ArtShed 2016

ArtShed 2016 will be a juried music and art installation competition on several sites along the Mill River.  The event will be open to artists, designers, and musicians who live in or are acquainted with the Mill River watershed.  This will be an open jury competition with prizes to be announced.

Art installations can be in a range of media, but must be site specific.  Unless prior agreement with public or private land owners have been arranged, the pieces will be ephemeral and will be taken down within a specified period.

Todd Lynch, landscape designer and artist, who lives in Williamsburg, is the lead for ArtShed with support from a steering committee composed of local officials and artists.  Todd’s past work on the Mill River can be seen at the confluence of the East and West Branches of the Mill River in Williamsburg.

Planning for ArtShed 2016 began in January 2015.  The current schedule will have a call for artists out in May 2015, a submission deadline of July 2015, an announcement of artists in September 2015, and a deadline for artists to commit by early October.  The event will be scheduled for late May 2016.
